How to Winter Sow Milkweed - Free Pollinator Series Workshop
Want to get a jump on spring and attract Monarch butterflies to your garden this summer? Make your own mini-greenhouse in a bottle to start milkweed seedlings. Take it home with you and leave it outside till spring, when youll reap a dozen or more milkweed seedlings to start in your garden. If you grow it, they will come!
Bring your own bottle (or 2): clear 1-litre or 2-litre soda bottles or translucent half gallon milk bottles are recommended. Instructions and sowing supplies provided.
Presented by Alice Ely, a UConn advanced master gardener and master composter, Gardens Chair at Wakeman Town Farm, creator of Monarch way stations, milkweed propagator and garden coach, not to mention the mother of many Monarchs each summer.
Please register for our free workshop. Children 5 and up are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
