Here's What I'm Saying...Life Lessons From an Italian Mama
Written and performed by Toni Perrotta. Directed by and developed with Jessica Lynn Johnson.
Toni takes you on a hysterical journey of life lessons told through the many characters she has met, dealt with, and grown from. Toni started out in stand up 30 years ago, performing all over the country. Next stop was Improv at The Groundlings. Then came sketch. Toni performed all over Los Angeles frequently headlining at The world Famous Comedy Store. In 1997 she took her then 3 year old daughter all across country performing in The Broadway Series National Tour of Tony and Tina's Wedding. Toni's role of the bride's mother, Josephina Vitale brought her great reviews. She has since appeared in many plays, films, and tv shows. Her big love is theatre.
One of her favorite projects was Darren Lynn Bousman's (SAW) Tension Experience. She was hired for one role and ended up playing over a dozen. In 2019 she played Kitty in Cricket Daniel's Lost Virginity Tour where the show got the LA Times Pick of the Week. December of 2019 found Toni starring in Hank Friedmann's A+ Mech Repair Sci Fi pilot.
Toni is also a great writer. She's written a few screenplays, and has her one acts produced in theatres in LA. Her web series, Gray Matter, that Toni wrote and acted in is picking up awards in film festivals. She's most proud of winning "best ensemble" at the Show Lo Film Festival in Az. Especially since it's about 4 women of a certain age who still kick butt and take names!
This show is a great little piece of solo theatre. You'll laugh, cry, and maybe even learn a thing or 2! Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks. One night only!!! 02-20-2020
