AVL Conscious Family Dinner
The NOHM Project and One World Brewing West invite you to dine with us for a night that will be out of this world! Crawl out of hibernation to celebrate our vibrant community while we imbibe on elixirs, craft beer and a plated meal that is forest to feast style.
Networking the local ecosystem. It is encouraged that you dress to impress. Bring you business cards!
KEY NOTE SPEAKERS
We welcome William Padilla-Brown of MycoSymbiotics LLC. to weave a tale for us using Fungi to read an ecosystem.
Wild fungi are the 'hooked on phonics' of ecological literacy. Understand where, and when to find fungi, and why they are there can tell you invaluable information about the ecosystem. William will explain to us how he reads the forest by its fungi.
Accompanied by local, Bill Whipple, founder of Acornocopia Project and member of the Nutty Buddy Collective.
Bill is a passionate "Treegan" taking a plant based diet beyond commodity annual agricultural crops like soy and corn. The Acornucopia Project is producing the four commodities of oil, flour, milk, and "meat" from our native tree crops that will be featured as ingredients in the dinner. Let's have communion with the trees!
HEAD CHEFS
Jill TrAshley, Founder of The NOHM Ryan Milt, Founder of Asheville Wild Foods Kyle Hughes, Local chef at Noble - The Greenhouse
4 courses of organic, locally foraged & home grown goodness
Dinner will celebrate what is in season and satiating during the dead of winter. We invite you to eat as you normally would any day. We strive to sustain you, not stuff you.
