ARTIST BIO:
PAVITHRA KANNAN
Pavithra Kannan has had a natural attraction to the performing arts since childhood. Her tryst with Bharatanatyam began at the age of 5. Pavithra has been training rigorously in the Kalakshetra style of Bharatanatyam under the tutelage of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Smt. Minal Prabhu
She has been actively performing and has given several Solo and Group performances at festivals in and around India and the USA. She is an integral part of the Mudrika Ensemble and has featured in several productions at prestigious festivals.
Pavithra is also trained in Carnatic Classical Music, an avid theater artist and is the principal actor of a notable Tamil theater group in India.
APOORVA PRADEEP
Introduced to the world of dance at the tender age of seven, Apoorva Pradeep has been
pursuing the art of Bharatanatyam for 19 years. She has been trained under the guidance of
Guru Sri Ashok Kumar, Guru B.Bhanumathi and Guru Smt Sheela Chandrashekar.
Apoorva has cleared the Junior and Senior dance exams conducted by the Karnataka State Secondary Education Board.
She also holds a post-graduate degree in Bharatanatyam from
Jain University. She has been an integral part of the Natyanjali troupe led by Guru Ashok Kumar and performed at several prestigious shows and festivals.
Having completed her Rangapravesham in the year 2008, Apoorva continues in the journey of dance with the quest to learn more. Adding to her achievements, she has also been
accredited as a B grade artiste by Doordarshan and is a recipient of Scholarship to Young Artistes by CCRT under the Ministry of Culture.
