Junípero Serra in Borderlands Perspective
David Hurst Thomas of the American Museum of Natural History compares Father Serra's missionary practices with those of his predecessors in the American Southwest, Texas, and Spanish Florida and examines the way in which he accommodated his missions to the uniquely Californian native communities.  The program is co-sponsored by the Academy of American Franciscan History. Ahmanson Room, Botanical Center.
