Beacon
The Chadash family of artists is pleased to announce our upcoming concert, Beacon, in Sacramento, California! For this show, we have brought together an exceptional group of artists from all areas of the visual and performing arts: dance, music, film, painting, poetry, photography, spoken word, multi-media, sound, and costume design.
Our Story: Continuing our quest to stand in the ashes of the barn burned down and point to the moon, Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement is proud to present Beacon. This unique professional dance experience, which utilizes multiple visual and performing arts, tells the generational story of three individuals afflicted with significant life challenges. Their perseverance in the face of devastating adversity and their ability to find inroads to hope and possibility provides an inspiring look at the beauty and resilience of the human spirit.
Production Details: The show plays at The Roseville High School Patti Baker Theater at 7:00 PM on both Friday, January 3rd and Saturday, January 4th. Matinee performances will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 4th.
Our Vision and Mission: Chadash seeks to cultivate renewal, reparation, and restoration in a broken world. Combining dance with a variety of other visual and performing arts, we tell stories in an effort to honestly acknowledge the world as it is, but then to engage in the conversation about what the world can be. Through transcendent choreography that cuts to the heart, stirs the soul and is thought-proving, we seek to stand in the ashes of the barn burned down and point to the moon. One half in suffering and one half in hope. For thousands of years, the arts have stirred, moved and shaped culture in ways that nothing else could. In a society that has shifted to screens, Chadash restores the unique power of the live stage!
