Make Mushroom Chai Tea concentrate
Join local herbalist Diana Law, teacher at the Dianaverse School of Herbal Learning in Des Moines, which offers yearlong programs as well as individual classes; and the Community Acupuncture Project in Burien for a delightful evening talking about adaptogens for winter and making a delicious and healthy chai concentrate that incorporates local mushrooms.
Polypore mushrooms help stimulate the immune system and get the body ready for winter. You've probably seen the expensive mushroom concentrates in stores, but it's fairly easy to make a batch for yourself. During this Participants will learn hands on how to make this with the recipe provided. Recipe can be downloaded online by those who register for the class.
All the herbs are provided, you just need to bring a jar to take your herbal chai home! For the purpose of making an herbal chai, we'll be making a chai without tea leaves, so you don't have to worry about the caffeine. If you want to include caffeine, you can steep the diluted concentrate with some tea at home.
Make the chai for yourself or to give as a gift for the holidays!
This is also an opportunity to check out the Burien Community Acupuncture Project and ask questions about acupuncture.
