The Tragedy of Macbeth
Snohomish High School Theatre Club presents "The Tragedy of Macbeth," by William Shakespeare
Macbeth, a brave Scottish lord and general, receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will be crowned the King of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action by his wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and claims the Scottish throne as his own. His guilt and paranoia take him spiraling down a rabbit hole of ghostly apparitions and deepening madness, leading him to commit more and more murders to protect himself from enmity and suspicion. The consequent civil war swiftly lead Macbeth and Lady Macbeth to their tragic deaths.
Due to the on stage violence and complexity of the language, this play is not recommended for children under 14 years of age. The performance includes strobe effects and fog machine.
