Jacob Witting, a widowed farmer who is still saddened by the death of his wife during childbirth several years before. He puts an ad in the paper for a mail-order bride. Sarah Wheaton, from Maine, answers and travels out to start her new life. Little does he know, Sarah is nothing like his former wife!
