ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP:
In this workshop, CPA Valerie Moseley will share highlights about filing city, county, state and federal taxes. She'll review the different taxes you may be responsible for as an artist, explain what is and isnt tax deductible, and offer record-keeping tips. If youve received grants, work as a teaching artist, or were paid for your artistic work, this workshop is for you.
- State: Understanding the differences between B&O tax, sales tax, and use tax and how they apply to you
- Federal: Tax deductions, including home office / studio space, travel, technology, and other expenses
- Federal: self-employment tax
- City: business licenses and B&O tax
- County: property taxes
Valerie Moseley, CPA is the founder and principal of Moseley & Associates LLC, a tax and business consulting firm serving individuals and small businesses in the Seattle area. She first discovered her passion for accounting while helping her friends with their taxes, and continues to mentor others on financial literacy and tax preparation both through her work at Moseley & Associates and as a volunteer with the Small Business Administration and the Washington State Society of CPAs.
