Manning Up film and Stand-Up Comedy Night
Come screen a new short comedy documentary and enjoy amazing live stand-up performances by local comics as well as the star of the film, Canadian stand-up sensation James Lorien MacDonald. There will be happy hour bar specials at the venue starting at 6 p.m. and a taco truck to feed ya! Plus the proceeds will go to support the New Orleans LGBT Community Center. A great night for a great cause!
Manning Up is a film about the early female-to-male transition of James "Jamie" MacDonald. His transition happens as his stand-up career is taking off, and so he decides to use his performances to examine the bewildering, hilarious, and sometimes heartbreaking process of becoming a man after 37 years lived as a woman.
James MacDonald himself will be performing at the event hosted by local comic Alida Glass, and, backed up by brilliant local stand-up talent.
