Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring
Joseph Kesselring wrote this macbre comedy in 1941 and it remains one of the all time favorites. Mortimer Brewster is living a happy life: he has a steady job at a prominent New York newspaper, hes just become engaged, and he gets to visit his sweet spinster aunts in Brooklyn to announce the engagement. Mortimer always knew that his family had a bit of a mad gene -- his brother believes himself to be Teddy Roosevelt and his great-grandfather used to scalp Indians for pleasure -- but his world is turned upside down when he realizes that his dear aunts, who have raised him, have been poisoning lonely old men for years as an act of charity! What's worse, the body of their latest victim is hidden in a chest in their living room, where anyone could find it. Mortimer does his best to dispose of the evidence but his plans are impeded when his psychopathic, also-serial-killing brother, Johnny, returns to the home after years of fleeing the authorities due to his "unofficial practice" of killing people and using their faces to change his. Hilarity ensues.
Due to mild adult themes the show is rated PG13
