Culture Jamming & Self Actualization -- A Uniquely San Francisco Story
What is Culture Jamming, and how did San Francisco's own Emperor Norton master it?
How did Emperor's Norton's mastery of Culture Jamming make way for queer culture in our present?
What is the Overton Window, and how can you use it to explore self-acceptance and drive change in your community and the wider culture?
Why does the Alt-Right commit so many self-owns, and how can knowledge of these mistakes help us resist encroaching Fascism?
All these questions and more will be answered in this class on a uniquely San Francisco take on culture jamming and self-actualization, taught by Jarys Maragopoulos! Join us for a unique seminar on Norton, Discordianism, conspiracy theories, and practical jokes as political activism.
Explore cultural flashpoints in San Francisco from the Gold Rush to the Summers of Love and Peace, as well as today. Uncover the occult secrets of the Discordians and the legacy of Chaos Magic. Use the powers of the counterculture to stand up to defenders of the Status Quo.
