Improv Night at CHAW
Come enjoy a fabulous night of improv and support the arts!

Improv Night at CHAW is a FUNdraiser featuring DC-based improv troupes Double Date, Lena Dunham, and The Ladies of Book Club. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to support tuition assistance for students at Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW).

Double Date is the winning team of the Washington Improv Theater's 2018 Fighting Improv Smackdown Tournament (beating 68 teams to clinch the title!) and features Nina Hsu, Joe Randazzo, Christopher Ulrich, and Jane White.

Lena Dunham is an all black improv group and featured ensemble at the Washington Improv Theater that started as an idea to bring together black improvisers in DC who were usually the only black member of their improv team. Lena Dunham features Darnell Eaton, Derek Hayes, Erica Johnson, Eva Lewis, Jamal Newman, Krystal Ramseur, and Nic Small.

The Ladies of Book Club love books so much that they incorporate their book club picks into their improv sets. The Ladies of Book Club features Dara Boxer, Maria Gahan, Sheena Marcus, and Amber Pierdinock.

Founded in 1972, Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) plays a unique role in providing creative opportunities to a broad spectrum of our DC community. We serve more than 9,000 youth and adult students, artists, and patrons each year. Our mission of  building community through the arts is rooted in the idea that art and community-building are synergistic. A diverse constituency creates more dynamic arts experiences, and dynamic arts experiences engender empathy. Together, they set the stage for transformation. This powerful mechanism for propelling social change is at the heart of all CHAW programming. In its nearly 50-year history, CHAW has never turned away anyone for inability to pay.

We look forward to seeing you at the show!
