Wise Women and Witches: Stories from the Isles of Britain
What is a wise woman, and what is a witch? What do the old stories tell us of the real magic that hides in our villages, towns, fields and hedgerows?
Here are rich folk tales from Britain, woven together by performance storyteller Lisa Schneidau with magic, nature and a hefty dose of the ridiculous.
There will be two shows, 12 noon and 1.15pm (running time 50 minutes; please arrive promptly for the show to start at the advertised time). Suitable for adults and children aged 7+. All children should be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Places are strictly limited due to space, and booking is strongly advised.
50% of the proceeds are being donated to the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic, and the Dark Gathering.
The venue will be the library at the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic. Given the rarity of some of the books, there is an absolute ban on any food and drink being brought into the library with no browsing of books permitted on this occasion.
