Going Under
Going Under is a film about a sex therapist named Peter who has a weekly secret date with Suzanne, a professional dominatrix. They have met weekly in a basement for two years, where they engage in an S&M (sadomasochism) game. She ties him up, pierces him with a spit and then heals his wound, thus fulfilling a ritual that works as a sort of catharsis for him to cope with the problems of his past. Although Peter's wife, Pat, knows about her husband's weekly date, she has made a mutual agreement with him on the belief that it's just the fulfillment of an erotic fantasy with no consequences to their relationship. Everything goes to plan until Peter becomes more and more drawn to Suzanne and insists on meeting her somewhere else. When his wife is out of town, he persuades Suzanne to give him a chance for their relationship to go a step further than the weekly S&M fantasy arena they create every week. The more Suzanne resists, the more Peter finds it difficult to control his overwhelming desire for her.
