Members of Borealis with pianist Libby Yu
The Whistler Chamber Music Society regrets that, due to circumstances beyond their control, the full Borealis Quartet is unable to perform in Whistler as specified in our brochure. Instead two members of the critically-acclaimed ensemble will be joined onstage by a fellow musician and friend on piano for a concert featuring music selections from well-loved classical composers. Vancouver-based Yuel Yawney, violinist, and Sungyong Lim, cellist, are tremendously talented and accomplished musicians who have travelled the world as part of the Borealis String Quartet, playing to sold-out audiences. They will be performing alongside Libby Yu, an exceptional Vancouver pianist who has recorded with CBC, performed internationally as a soloist and played with orchestras across Canada, the US and Europe.
