Magick 101: Theatre Skills for Better Ritual

Are you the kind of person who can astral project like nobodys business but cant project your damn voice across a room? Do you get all dressed up in your ceremonial robes and then just find yourself feeling silly? Do magical postures feel forced and awkward? Are you intimidated by arcane language, or do you struggle to connect emotionally with your evocations?

This class is for you!

Using theater games and exercises, well overcome our ceremonial stage fright. In the process well giggle a lot, make giant buffoons of ourselves, and learn not to care! By the end of this class, you should be better able to commit your energy to any ritual, whether youre performing it in private or in front of hundreds of people.

PRESENTER:

Johnny Truant (a.k.a. Antichristos) is the co-founder and head pastor of First Church of the Morningstar, a multireligious church of the left-hand path. Hes also a first-year seminarian at Starr King School for the Ministry, and a recovering theater kid. As a child he attended Waldorf school and was trained in the esoteric modern dance form known as Eurythmy. Hes not sure he got anything out of that spiritually, but it certainly desensitized him to looking like an idiot.

$15-$35 in advance through Brown Paper Tickets, or at the door at a $20-$40 sliding scale.

ACCESS:

Please note that the Wicked Grounds Annex space at 293 8th St is ADA friendly once upstairs, but stairs are the only means of ingress and egress to the Wicked Grounds Annex space. If you have any questions, please message the event organizers and we will do our best to answer them!
