Influenced by the work of Alice Walker, the late Ntozake Shange, and Toni Morrison, director Eshay Brantley was moved to reflect on the roles of Black womxn in America. Her meditation on the all too common struggles of Black womxn giving at the expense of themselves lead her to "The Garden."
"The Garden" is a devised work of theatre from 7 Black womxn about the reclamation of all that had been stolen or stripped away. This performance is for Black womxn now and forever.
