Halloween Mystery Panel
Join us at your Dallas Flagship HPB On Oct 31 at 7 p.m. for a fun evening of spooky mysteries as we host several bestselling mystery authors for a panel and signing!
The following are our mystery authors:
Clea Simon- Moderator
A former journalist and music critic, Clea Simon wrote three nonfiction books, including the Boston Globe bestseller The Feline Mystique (St. Martins), before turning to a life of crime (fiction). Her more than two dozen mysteries usually involve cats or rock and roll, or some combination thereof. A native of New York, she moved to Massachusetts to attend Harvard and now lives nearby in Somerville.
Kimberly Belle
Kimberly Belle is the USA Today and internationally bestselling author of five novels, including her latest domestic suspense, Dear Wife (June 2019). Her third novel, The Marriage Lie, was a semifinalist in the 2017 Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Mystery & Thriller, and a #1 e-book bestseller in the UK and Italy. Shes sold rights to her books in a dozen languages as well as film and television options. A graduate of Agnes Scott College, Belle divides her time between Atlanta and Amsterdam.

Meg Gardiner
Meg Gardiner is the award-winning author of fourteen novels. Her thrillers have been bestsellers in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia, and have been translated into more than twenty languages. China Lake won the 2009 Edgar Award for Best Paperback Original. UNSUB won the 2018 Barry Award for Best Thriller. A former lawyer, three-time Jeopardy! champion, and a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation, Gardiner lives in Austin. She is the 2019 president of Mystery Writers of America.
Mindy Mejia
Mindy Mejia is a CPA and a graduate of the Hamline University MFA program. Her debut novel, The Dragon Keeper, was published by Ashland Creek Press in 2012. She lives in the Twin Cities with her family, and is the author of Strike Me Down, Everything You Want Me to Be, and Leave No Trace.
Wendy Walker
WENDY WALKER is the author of the national and international bestseller All Is Not Forgotten and Emma In The Night. Her latest work, The Night Before, is a June Indie Next List Pick and will be adapted for television by Eva Longoria and her production company, Unbelievable Entertainment. Wendy has sold rights to her books in 23 languages, as well as film and television options. Prior to her writing career, Wendy practiced both corporate and family law, having earned her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her undergraduate degree from Brown University. Wendy also worked as a financial analyst at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Wendy is currently finishing her fourth thriller and managing a busy household in Fairfield County, Connecticut, where she lives with her three sons.
