YEA Presents 'Human Trafficking' Performance &
Community Conversation
WHAT:
LURED, a performance and community conversation on the epidemic of human trafficking in Atlanta, presented by YEA. Audience members will see select scenes from YEA's new play with music, LURED.
Also, human trafficking experts will create a provocative, interactive community engagement -- leading discussions and taking questions from the audience about this critical issue. LURED is designed to spark conversation between youth and adults in the community.
This event is in special partnership with PROJECT SOUTH and RESCUING HOPE.
WHY:
-- Atlanta was named by the FBI as one of 14 US cities with the highest rate of children used in prostitution
-- There are more than 4,000 victims of human trafficking in metro Atlanta every year
-- 65% of men who purchase sex with female children live in suburban areas outside the I-285 perimeter
