Animate Alameda Fall Fundraiser

Take a gorgeous space (a.k.a the Phoenix), some delicious food (care of Saint Butter Bakery), some killer Hunter Cocktails, and mix it in with a strong dollop of dance (performance, film, photo exhibits) and there you have it. The perfect Thursday evening! Buy a ticket, bring a friend or five, be tempted by the stellar Silent Auction Prizes and help us to continue raising funds for the Animate Alameda Project.

The What?

Animate Alameda is a West End Arts District project focused on proliferating and promoting dance performance in Alameda. The project started in October 2018 with the inaugural Animate Dance Festival. The festival program included dance classes, vendors and 19 performances, featuring more than 150 dancers of all genres. The festival is set to become a bi-annual event with the next installment coming to Alameda Point in October 2020.
This year we launched Animate Shorts, a series of site-specific performances that will take place bi-annually in intimate spaces around Alameda.
While the festival allows hundreds of people to experience different dance genres and performance styles, Animate Shorts is an opportunity to witness dance performance in an intimate and unconventional spaces. This years Shorts program takes place at the Fireside Lounge on Webster street from Late September to early October 2019.
