Lake Street Story Circles
Featuring work from Sharon Day, Lisa Marie Brimmer, Marlina Gonzalez, Ellen Hinchcliffe, Ifrah Mansour, and Beliza Torres Navarez.
Story circles bring together artists from diverse communities along East Lake Street to explore what power looks like and feels like for people of color, the effects of gentrification on art spaces, how Lake Street is a site of resistance, what sanctuary is for queer communities of color, what some of the unspoken stories of the immigrant experience are, what it means to be an artist in the face of so much destruction... and so much more.
