Sounds Good covers the basics of production audio will leave participants with a deeper understanding of sound on set.

Well start with the basics of what exactly a sound department should be doing on set, and what the priorities of a good sound mixer should be. There will be a hands-on demonstration of all the gear in a sound mixers kit, including timecode equipment and boom pole technique. This class will prepare the participant to jump in as an audio apprentice on the Reel Grrls Pro set.

By the end of the day, students should have a more comprehensive understanding of why good sound starts at the source and how to achieve it.

Minimum age to attend is 17, there is no maximum age. This is part of a series of production intensives being offered this fall for emerging filmmakers. Those age 17-26 who complete all the workshops will be eligible to join RGPro, a production company that produces broadcast-quality media for nonprofit organizations, local businesses, and institutions.
