Third Date: Not-Just-Comedy Improv
Five veteran actors create dramatic and comic scenes inspired by improvised movement pieces. Guitarist Bryon Settle (Killer Filler/Lud) provides musical accompaniment.
Featuring director Dan Sipp along with J Chachula, Dana Marks, Nancy Pekar and Jane Allen Wilson, this pair of Third Date performances is centered around a technique called Viewpoints. The Viewpoints are nine elements of time and space -- tempo, repetition, spatial relationships and more -- that serve as a common language for the actors' use to spark ideas for scenes and character. In the process, they create an original work of theater in the moment without hesitation, blending humor and emotional depth .
