DINA MARTINA in PORTLAND!
"Dina Martina goes way beyond drag into some new kind of twisted art." -- John Waters
After nearly a decade, DINA MARTINA finally returns to Portland October 17 at 7 & 9 pm at the Fez Ballroom.
ABOUT DINA MARTINA
A Las Vegas native, Miss Martina made her first stage appearance in 1989. After attaining cult status in Seattle, San Francisco and Portland, Martina's official New York debut in 2005 sold out in minutes and created a sensation and cult following that continues to grow. Her follow-up shows have left jaded audiences (including Whoopi Goldberg, John Waters, Matt Stone, John Cameron Mitchell, Margaret Cho, Bruce Vilanch, Joyce Dewitt, and Jennifer Coolidge -- a list as strange has her shows) stunned and clamoring for more.
Miss Martina has also wowed crowds in LA, Provincetown, and London. Absolutely packed with ludicrous song, horrifying stories, insane videos and overburdened costumes, Dina Martina's shows are impossible to describe, other than that they've become synonymous with jaw-dropping pathos and mind-blowing comedy. Dina has been hailed as "a train wreck in heels" and "one of the best nightmares you'll ever have". But perhaps the best description of Dina comes from a glowing review in Seattle's famed alternative weekly The Stranger: "Her body moves like two pigs fighting their way out of a sleeping bag and her face looks like the collision of a Maybelline truck with a Shoney's buffet, but Dina redefines what it means to be a star."
