Join us in conversation with KERA's Krys Boyd and bestselling travel author Paul Theroux on Monday, October 14th at 7pm at your local Dallas Flagship Half Price Books.

The Preferred Ticket option includes a copy of On the Plain of Snakes, reserved seating and early access to the signing line.

The Event Pass option does not guarantee a seat or a copy of On the Plain of Snakes, but does include access to the event and signing line.  

ABOUT THE BOOK
Legendary travel writer Paul Theroux drives the entire length of the US-Mexico border, then goes deep into the hinterland, on the back roads of Chiapas and Oaxaca, to uncover the rich, layered world behind todays brutal headlines. This gorgeous hardcover will be available for purchase at the event while supplies last and is included for purchasers of the Preferred Ticket option.  

ABOUT PAUL THEROUX
Paul Theroux is the author of dozens of highly acclaimed books, novels, and short story collections, including The Great Railway Bazaar (1975), The Mosquito Coast (1981) Riding the Iron Rooster (1983), and Deep South: Four Seasons on Back Roads (2015). He is a 2015 recipient of the Royal Geographical Society's Patron's Medal and a past winner of the American Academy and Institute of Arts & Letters Award for literature. He has also received the James Tait Black Award and the Whitbread Prize for his novel Picture Palace. Theroux lives in Hawaii and on Cape Cod.

ABOUT KRIS BOYD
Krys Boyd has been host and managing editor of KERA FMs flagship midday talk show Think since 2006, and hosted the weekly television program of the same name from 2007 until 2011.

A graduate of TCUs Bob Schieffer College of Communication, Krys began her career as a journalist along the U.S./Mexico border and returned to North Texas in 1999 to serve as News Director for Broadcast.com, and later Senior Producer of Broadcast News at Yahoo. Krys joined KERA in 2001, hosting the nightly radio talk show Conversations. Later, she wrote and produced documentary and educational television programs, including the critically-acclaimed, nationally broadcast JFK: Breaking the News in 2003, and served as producer and co-host of the Emmy Award-winning public affairs program On The Record.

Think has been called the best radio talk show in Dallas numerous times by D Magazine and by the Dallas Observer and has earned honors as PRNDIs best call-in program. Krys and her husband, Matt, live in Dallas and have four children.
