Former Portland filmmaker RobinWillis  has been gathering American xpats (expatriates) in his new home of Barcelona to tell their stories of what it's like being over there when you're from here, and vice versa.  Thursday, August 29, Robin will reel in a new net full of fish-out-of-water to tell their stories at Mississippi Pizza's Atlantis Lounge.

For this show, the focus is on foreign fish in local water: Expats from across the ponds sharing what life is like for them here in Portlandia. A complete list of the storytellers for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.

Singer-songwriter Richard Moore mooredick.com will open the show with a few of his very close-to-home songs about living in Portland.

Host Robin Willis is an award-winning film director and director of photography. He has shot and directed hundreds of television commercials around the world for such agencies as Wieden and Kennedy, Jung Von Matt, TBWA, Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey, Bates, BBDO, Leo Burnett, McCann Ericson, J. Walter Thompson, and their clients like Texaco, Coca Cola, ESPN, Taco Bell, Old El Paso, Green Giant, Opel, McDonalds, Burger King, Nintendo and Reebok. His short film "Walter ate a Peanut" was a finalist at the Cannes International Film Festival.

Robin has been producing a monthly live show and podcast called Xpat Stories.  Said Robin, "True, funny, sad, joyous, strange, bawdy, poignant, quirky stories about living life in 'Expatria.' Stories told without notes about living in places away from our physical homes but perhaps closer to our hearts."

Find out more about Xpat stories at www.xpatstories.org @xpatstories. An event update will be released in the coming weeks.
