Camping In Mount Madonna County Park
Hey! Hey! Hey! Do you want to go camping? How about Mt. Madonna? We would love for you to join us. Weve secured a group campsite (West Deer Pen Group Campsite) in a secluded redwood setting and we want to share it with you. Come join us and other fellow Sierra Club members for some hiking, relaxing, dining, mingling, chatting, star gazing, etc. You know, camping stuff. We are going to have fun!
Mount Madonna County Park is a majestic redwood forest situated at the summit of the Santa Cruz Mountains and accessed via Highway 152. On some trails you can see Monterey Bay and on others, you can see the Santa Clara valley. Things to do and see: Hiking, horseback riding, visitor center (natural and cultural history, local geology), Twin Giant redwoods, amphitheater, penned white fallow deer, Banana slugs, Henry Miller estate, et al.
Mount Madonna County Park amenities are: Free Showers, flush toilets, bathrooms, food lockers, tap water, picnic tables, fire rings, etal.
West Deer Pen Group Campsite is a secluded group site surrounded by towering redwoods with the following amenities: private 10 vehicle parking lot, 10+ picnic tables, 10 ft. round fire pit with perimeter seating, large coal BBQ and Porta Pottys. No need to check in with Ranger. Look for the Earth Flag on Pole Line Rd.

Planned Group Events: Optional hike on Saturday to be determined by group.
Here are the Rules
1.No campers or RVs
2.Quiet Hours: 10:00 pm to 7:00 am
3.No pets
4.No Smoking
5.No electrified musical instruments
6.Fires in fire pit or BBQ (only if not under fire restriction rules).
7.Each person is responsible for providing their own tent and supplies.
Event Date: Oct 11-13 2019, Friday 4pm through Sunday 1pm.
Cost: $30 a person. Any money collected above the cost of the campsite will be donated to the Sierra Club.
