This is a new offering, combining workshop and unplugged concert -- diving into opening the voice, singing through fears, songwriting & lyrics, live looping, performance energetics, and dialogue about Life -- as well as a little acoustic song-sharing of some of Ayla's songs, which all can sing together in the later portion of the event : )
Come and be part of this weaving of beauty, of this prayer of LIFE. A workshop that leads us into a deeper understanding of our own voices, how to receive and create music, find words and shape lyrics, follow melodies into whole songs, and trust ourselves as we do it all. Ayla is a weaver of magic. She uplifts the spirit bringing freedom and dance to the voice.
Through trusting our ability to listen and create sound, we learn to trust our own intuition and power to be creators of our lives. Each time we sing, we find new edges, and by leaning into them we can see who we are becoming. We sing for the Joy of it. And we sing for the Need of it, to make offerings of sound that can ripple out and make beauty and good for this planet.
You don't have to be a songwriter or singer to join us!
ALL are welcome ~ this is a workshop on opening to the creative impulse that wants to come through You, whether you're a singer, writer, gardener, builder, painter, dancer, or want to simply grow your creative self.

Ayla Nereo's voice hits straight to the heart. With an array of loop-pedals by her side, she builds layer upon layer of vocal melodies into fierce, sweeping harmonies and weaves syncopated threads of guitar, kalimba, piano, and percussion into each live performance.
