Double Deep Dive: Posture/Position
Double Deep Dive: Posture/Position 02 December 2019 10:00 AM (3 hours)
Min experience: 3+ years performing improv
Workshop takes place in the Hall
Do you want to do more moving in your improv? Make better use of the space? Connect with your fellow players to create scenes that matter? In this workshop Laura & Gael will work with you on body positions and postures.
You will explore different ways to use the space on stage. How can our body tell the story? We know! By moving, by positioning ourselves in relation to other players, and by bringing our body to different places on the stage.
What does it mean when I say I love you, facing away from you? Which questions arise when all the prisoners are in one corner of the cell? How can we show - not tell - and surprise ourselves in the process? After this workshop, you will have more tools to make beautiful stage pictures and play memorable scenes.

The two teachers are Laura and Gael Doorneweerd-Perry.
When Laura is not traveling the world, she can be found cycling the Amsterdam canals between her jobs as actress, trainer and AD of TVA Impro. She loves slow motion running, bloody fights and smoking (on stage, that is).
Gael founded Strasbourg's main improv group La Carpe Haute, and spends his time teaching and performing improv in and outside of France. He is known for his sound effects - even in silent scenes - and his incomparable mimed fishing skills. Improv Fest Ireland is part of their Honeymoon Tour around the world.
