Vadim Gluzman, with his 1690 "Leopold Auer" Stradivarius violin, returns to Fresno to support our Youth Orchestras!
This amazing violinist routinely performs with the greatest symphony orchestras in the world. A review of a recent performance of his with the Chicago Symphony praises everything about Gluzman's playing, including his right arm: "his powerful bow arm," writes the critic, "pulled a tone now silken, now guttural, from the Stradivarius once owned by a virtuoso of an earlier era, Leopold Auer."
But this time he's not playing with the Chicago Symphony or the Berlin Philharmonic or the Cleveland Orchestra. He's playing with our Youth Philharmonic Orchestra! That group of musicians aged 12 through 18 will accompany Gluzman as he performs the Beethoven Violin Concerto in this 250th birthday year for that composer.
But also...also!...the lucky winner of our Live the Dream with Vadim competition will play the Bach Double Violin Concerto with this master violinist. Do not miss the chance to hear our own Valley talent performing with this virtuoso and his Strad.
Worried you might get hungry, listening to all that sweet music? Not a problem. Our spectacular dessert auction will be set up in the lobby. Bid on sweets to take home for Valentine's Day celebrations. What could be sweeter?
Only $25 for adults, $10 for youth. You may also upgrade to premium seating ($35/$15).* For our very best seats, we are asking $50. This is a fundraiser, after all!
Online ticket sales end 12 hours before the event begins. But never fear: there should be tickets available at the door. A freewill offering of $10-$25 per adult is encouraged but not required. (This is our big annual fundraiser...) We will welcome donations from $5 on up. This is going to be a fantastic concert, and we want everyone to attend!
Concert begins at 7:00pm. Please be sure to arrive no later than 6:45 to assure seating.
Doors will open at 6:00 to allow time to peruse desserts.
