A LOVE SUPREME: A TRIBUTE TO JOHN COLTRANE
Every other month, DJRF & Hayti pay tribute to the masters of Jazz and the legacy they left behind. Part of the proceeds will create a jazz scholarship for high school students. It is important to hold a high standard for our music and preserve its power to future generations in our community, as everything still to follow has come from the birth of Black American Music. The first event in our new series celebrates the jazz giant, John Coltrane, on his 93rd birthday! Come and vibe to the sounds of local jazz artists, Shaquim Muldrow #Sax, Brandon Shamar #Piano, Chris Sharp #Bass, and Dwayne Jordan #Drums, as they reinterpret sounds of the North Carolina native who forever changed the landscape of music.
