Frances Luke Accord w/ Hannah Busse
When Nicholas Gunty and Brian Powers put their songs and their voices together, there is a delicate and powerful magic that commands the room to attention. The duo is known as Frances Luke Accord, and they are what NPRs Mountain Stage calls the definition of lean-in music. Their soulful branch of indie-folk is orchestrated with spare and sophisticated acoustic threads woven into a lush backdrop for their intimate melodies. Rich, up-close tenor harmonies lend their timeless songwriting an urgency that honors the Simon & Garfunkel comparisons but pushes beyond into the world of Bon Iver, Jose Gonzalez, and progressive folk music.
Hannah Busse is a singer-songwriter, vocalist, pianist, accordionist, choral director, and oboist from Madison. She writes and performs her own brand of folk-pop music at venues large and small around the region, and has frequently been a collaborator in the projects of other artists. As worship director for a local church community, leading worship services and bands of volunteer musicians is a weekly rhythm in Hannah's life. While she plays a lot of music by ear, she is also classically trained and holds a degree in music education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Hannah is a wife and mom, avid bargain hunter, and Boggle enthusiast.
