A Concert for Peace
Long Island Voices and Sound Symphony will perform the World Premier of "Mass for the Unarmed Child" by local composer Michcael Busswitz-Quarm which recognizes the impacts of gun violence. There will also be a performance of several other pieces including "Pay the Ferryman for David Aaron" which speaks to another form of violence; the ravages of drug addiction. Just as our community came together during our national crisis after 9-11 to offer hope and support, so too must we join voices to raise awareness of the Opioid and drug crisis affecting so many families on Long Island. We want to support those in recovery and honor those who have sadly passed from the disease of addiction. In this Concert, we sing for freedom in all its forms, with love in our hearts and hope for the future - that all children may grow up in peace. This is a Benefit Concert for: F.I.S.T: FAMILIES IN SUPPORT OF TREATMENT is a Not-For-Profit organization designed to organize, support, educate, guide, and provide resources to families who are struggling with a loved one's addiction and comfort those who have lost a loved to an overdose.
