About the Instructor:
MONA MONTAGUE, known as The Star-Cross Stripper, has been enticing Twin Cities audiences for nine years with her rich array of performances celebrating pop culture, imagination, humor, and sexuality. Mona got her start through classes with Ophelia Flame and Gina Louise, before joining Twin Cities earliest nerdlesque show, Abbie Rhodes Psychedelic Spectacle. She co-founded Toil & Trouble Presents to create theme-driven, nerdy shows from 2011 to 2016.

As a producer and performer, Mona constructs acts and productions ranging from highly celebrated to extremely obscure that are still pleasing to a wide range of audiences. She currently serves as sponsorship director for the Minneapolis Burlesque Festival and curates CONvergences annual Nerdlesque show. Mona is thrilled to bring these experiences to the classroom and foster new performance and artistry of Twin Cities nerdlesque!

THE TWIN CITIES BURLESQUE ACADEMY, Minnesota's the first school of its kind was founded by Ophelia Flame and Gina Louise, who have been performing together since 2003 and teaching burlesque workshops since 2005. The belief that there's a bit of showpony in all of us is the drive behind their mission: to teach burlesque technique, performance, and history while encouraging self-expression and body confidence, welcoming students of all levels and backgrounds. The Academy offers performance opportunities, bachelorette parties & special events.  www.twincitiesburlesqueacademy.com
