Mariachi Girl in Bakersfield
Join us at the Doré Theater, Cal State Bakersfield where we will be staging "Mariachi Girl" - a bilingual musical for all audiences about a young girl who dreams of playing mariachi music like her father, though her father insists that traditional mariachis only include men.
"Mariachi Girl" explores how one girl can challenge her identity and teaches children of different ethnicities and cultures to embrace their heritage and follow their dreams.
Written by Roxanne Schroeder-Arce with music and lyrics by Héctor Martinez Morales.
Featuring Mariachi Águilas de J. Carlos Ozuna & Introducing Estefani Lopez from La Voz Kids & Tengo Talento.
