MOONVIEWING OTSUKIMI
Saturday, August 17, 2013 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Gates will open at 6:00 pm
Enjoy the Seattle Japanese Garden after-hours at Moon Viewing. During Moon Viewing, the garden is beautifully lit with paper lanterns, luminaries and floating boats. KUNIKO TAKAMURA and MARCIA TAKAMURA of MIYAGI-KAI performing classical and contemporary koto music
YASUKO HONJO HARRIS on the shinobue, a traditional Japanese wooden flute
View the full moon (weather permitting) through telescopes provided by the SEATTLE ASTRONOMICAL SOCIETY.
Seattle TANKOKAI will present a Tsukimi Chakai (Moon Viewing Tea) at 6:15, 7:15 & 8:15 p.m. in the Shoseian Teahouse. Tickets for the Tsukimi Chakai are $10 (plus $15 event admission) by advance reservation on Brown Paper Tickets.
