Fungi discovery tour
As part of our Magnifying Mushrooms Open day join fungi specialist Richard Wright for an informative and interactive tour of Boundary Way Community Garden. Suitable for adults and accompanied children Richard will give an overview of fungi and its interrelationships with plants and trees and the hidden world beneath our feet known as the Wood Wide Web. He will be explaining the importance of fungi to ecosystems and the future of the planet.
After the tour there will be a chance to see an art exhibition that presents the culmination of our Magnifying Mushrooms project. You will be able to see the outcome of a series of creative workshops. Artwork by local school and nursery children alongside a range of creative responses to our theme by artists including embroidery, painting and drawing. There will be hands on art activities and a trail for children.
Magnifying Mushrooms is supported with funding from Grow Wild UK and the National Lottery Community Fund administered by Kew Gardens and with an Open Access Award from Creative Black Country.
