WHOLE Conference 2020
The WHOLE Conference is a whole day ticketed event held annually in Camarillo, CA featuring guest speakers explaining the "WHY" of a whole food plant-based diet and chefs and other speakers giving the "HOW" of a WFPB diet.   This coming conference will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at the Rancho Campana High School Performing Arts Auditorium and is sponsored by the Camarillo SDA Church.  This conference will feature Dr. Michael Greger of nutritionfacts.org as the keynote speaker and he will be speaking on, "How Not to Diet".  Dr. Sean Hashmi, a board certified nephrologist, will speak on diet and kidney disease.  Dr. Angie Sadeghi, a board certified gastroenterologist, will be presenting about the gut microbiome.  Drs. Dean and Ayesha Sherzai, board certified neurologists, will be speaking about optimizing brain health.  In addition Chef Alan Roettinger will be doing cooking demonstrations and special guest Tim Kaufman from Buffalo, New York, will be talking about his journey to health. Things you will learn are: The secrets to brain health, the influence of lifestyle vs. genetics in Alzheimer's disease, how to improve your gut microbiome, how to heal a leaky gut, how to stop losing weight and start gaining health, how to stay motivated in transitioning to a whole food plant-based diet, how not to diet, how to use chocolate as a binder in healthy snacks, how to make delicious oil-free salad dressings, how does red meat affect kidney health, and what is worse when it comes to kidney health, sodas or cheese. A light breakfast is provided as well as a whole food plant-based lunch catered by Command Performance.  There are also free drawings during the day.  Parking is free. There are opportunities to speak with the presenters directly or purchase their books or other materials. There is no childcare available.  There are 4 hours of continuing education for various healthcare providers.  Please look at the website www.wholeconference.org for more information about CEUs.
