Josquin and Palestrina represent the height of musical excellence in each of their eras. Both served the papal choir in Rome during turbulent political times, and both composers managed to refine and fully develop their mature styles, leaving us with some of the most significant music of the Renaissance. Ensemble VIII concludes the season with its annual signature Renaissance splendor program culminating with Palestrinas Pope Marcellus Mass.
