UPILE CHISALA: SOFT MAGIC
Malawian storyteller Upile Chisala will present and read from soft magic, a collection of poetry and prose exploring the self, joy, blackness, gender, matters of the heart, spirituality, the experience of Diaspora, and above all, how we survive. Told in five parts, soft magic is a shared healing journey.
Born in 1994 and raised in Zomba, Malawi, Upile hopes to tell stories from the margins and, through her work, to help others and herself come to terms with pasts, celebrate presents, and confidently dream beautiful futures.
