WORKSHOP: Burlesque From the Inside Out

Visiting guest Instructor Kellita will help you discover 3 elemental Showgirl movements + postures that awaken your vitality and sensuality, both on and offstage. Learn how knowing your Showgirl Awakening Archetype (the Diva, the Vixen, the Starlet, etc) can help you increase your current level of vitality, authenticity and confidence. You'll also learn:

* how aiming directly for "sexy" can leave you feeling divorced from yourself, and how to naturally claim "sexy" in a way that feels good.

* Find out how the skin that is revealed during a burlesque act is only the metaphor for the most important reveal: the revealing of the performer's radiant essence.

* Experience how delicious it can be to be truly seen, and how it can help us begin to see ourselves with more kindness + love.

About the Instructor:
KELLITA, is San Francisco-based performing + teaching artist, mentor + burlesque therapist. For 2 decades, shes designed and curated shows that help women revel in their bodies, reveal their radiant essences, and receive what they desire, from San Francisco to New Orleans, Hollywood to Montreal, and Paris to Tokyo. She is a 5-time finalist at the Burlesque Hall of Fame, 5-time international burlesque festival headliner and Queen of Carnaval San Francisco 2008.

THE TWIN CITIES BURLESQUE ACADEMY (formerly Playful Peacock), the first school of its kind in the Twin Cities, was founded by Ophelia Flame and Gina Louise, who have been performing together since 2003 and teaching burlesque workshops since 2005. The belief that there's a bit of showpony in all of us is the drive behind their mission: to teach burlesque technique, performance, and history while encouraging self-expression and body confidence, welcoming students of all levels and backgrounds.
