Event
Bees, Mead, and More
Please join Slow Food Corvallis in collaboration with Nectar Creek for a fun and informative afternoon about bees and mead, on site in the production room at the Nectar Creek facility. After a welcoming taste of mead, pollinator advocate and consilience researcher at Washington State University, Melanie Kirby, will talk to us about how the midwives of agriculture- bees, are like seeds: worthy of conservation as keystone species connecting habitat to health, and unfolding stories of hive genetics. We'll enjoy hearty appetizers and a selection of meads from Nectar Creek with staff on hand to walk us through the tasting as well as answer questions about mead and its production.
