Brandon Hughes' The Last Poem (dramatic reading of NEW play)
Maya Angelou admirers Sabrina and Andrea have a secret that's kept them apart for five years. David, Sabrina's husband, is a poet tormented on writing a final poem before self-publishing his first book. The money he borrows to publish his book is questionable, and when certain people come looking for the money a showdown ensues. Empowered after attending a Maya Angelou speaking engagement, Sabrina and Andrea walk in on the altercation and seize the moment to expose their secret. What they reveal makes an already dangerous confrontation more dangerous. (Runs appr. 80 min.)
