Registration is closed for the Community Conversation taking place this evening, July 23, at 6 pm. But we have a few more spaces. Please join us! Here are a few details: Refreshments. We will provide tea & crackers. Bring along a vegetarian snack if you would like to share. The program begins at 6:10 pm. Service ware. In the spirit of the circular economy we encourage everyone to BYO mug, flatware, or anything else that you might need for potluck snacks. Directions. Khalsa Montessori is just north of the JCC, but cannot be reached via the J, as Dodge dead-ends into their parking lot. Ample parking is available on the school grounds. Look for a sandwich board directing you to the Middle School building, which is at the north end of the campus, adjacent to the playfield and Sky Net play structure. Preparation. The conversation exercise will be a time both to listen and to share. Bring a topic that you would like to talk about a celebration or a concern. You will have 4 minutes to talk about this in a small group, then group members will have time to respond in ways that you request (e.g., reflecting feeling, paraphrasing content, seeking more information, or offering a perspective. We believe this will be a meaningful experience for everyone, and are so glad you will be part of the evening!

Community Conversation

Do you wish for more civility in our public space? Join us for an evening of mindful, compassionate conversation in Tucson.

We are the Conversation Coalition local groups and individuals dedicated to learning and sharing conversation methods that help bring about mutual understanding. We will share potluck snacks and an hour of focused conversations in small groups, followed by a circle discussion, reflecting on different styles of responding.

Bring a celebration or a concern something you would appreciate sharing with others. Enjoy communicating in ways that are once relaxing and enlivening, and contemplate ways that you may contribute to deeper, more respectful, more potent discourse in our community.
