Variety is the theme of the next Parlor of Mystery when magician and escape artist, Thomas Solomon and ventriloquist, magician and mentalist, Dr. Bob Baker join emcee and Parlor of Mystery founder Joe Silkie and Mike Maione at what promises to be a spectacular night of mystery and mayhem.
Thomas Solomon is an award-winning magician and escape artist. Known as The Thinking-Mans Magician and The Worlds Greatest Escape Artist, his varied career in theatre, industrials and television has earned him numerous awards. Notable accomplishments include his network television specials on CH4 (Thomas Solomon, The Escape Artist), ITV (The Secret World of Magic and Magicians), BBC (The History of Magic) in Great Britain, NHK (Magic) in Japan and (THC) The History Channel and (THCI) The History Channel International (No Jail Can Hold Me) in the United States and overseas. He is the only escape artist to have entertained President Ronald Reagan and President George HW Bush at The White House where he escaped the handcuffs of the Uniformed Secret Service.
He has performed his award-winning magic at Ballys MK, the Roxy, New York Comedy Club, Coney Island with shows Off-Broadway (Theatre of The Macabre), (Ellusions) and many other places. He has performed twice at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California and was the resident magician onboard Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines fleet of ships sailing throughout Bermuda, the Caribbean, and Australia. His magic has also been seen at product launches and tradeshows for Deutsche Bank, Absolut Vodka, Birdseye Frozen Foods, Alka-Seltzer, Sony, Ford Motor Company, Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Proctor & Gamble, Black & Decker, and many others.
Bob Baker is a renowned Long Island gastroenterologist by day, and comedy ventriloquist by night. With his eclectic crew of wise-cracking 'special guests,' Dr. Bob delivers a unique brand of witty banter and wry observational humor that audiences love. He has been a featured performer on America's Got Talent, on the Dr. Oz Show, in numerous New York City and Long Island comedy clubs, and at high-end fundraisers, country clubs, and private events across the New York area.
Parlor of Mystery co-founder Joe Silkie will host the show. Silkie is a magic creator, consultant, lecturer and artist. He has constructed custom magic props for popular magic television shows and accessories used by thousands of magicians worldwide. His magic often includes hand-made artifacts that he produces in his art studio.
The show is produced by Mike Maione who will perform close-up magic during intermission. Maione is one of the founders of the Parlor of Mystery and frequently hosts the show.
The Parlor of Mysterys home is the South Shore Theatre Experience in Lindenhurst. Its the perfect place to experience parlor and close-up magic. It is a small black box theater with comfortable tiered seating for 40. The Parlor of Mystery is one of many productions that take place at the South Shore Theatre Experience, which is located at 115 South Wellwood Ave. in Lindenhurst. The South Shore Theatre Experience is a non- profit organization that produces original works and theater classics as well as conducting acting classes & workshops.
Parlor of Mystery shows usually take place on the fourth Sunday of every month with different magicians performing different effects. No one under the age of 7 will be admitted.
