Intro to Block Printing Workshop
Learn the beautiful technique of hand block printing in this super laid-back, fun workshop with Brooklyn-based artist & printmaker Michelle Han. Taught in Michelle's own home studio, the 2.5-hour workshop will equip students with all the skills needed to create and enjoy making their own hand pulled prints...

Block printing is a beautiful and ancient process of printing by hand from hand carved blocks, traditionally carved from wood and dipped in ink. In this class, we will be using rubber and linoleum blocks to carve and create original prints. Each student will be able to work on carving a block and printing during the session, exploring the endless possibilities of printmaking. All materials are included, and participants will take home their own block printing starter kit (includes a carving tool, brayer/roller, small tube of ink, and block). And for fun, enjoy a glass of wine and some snacks while working on the craft...

No experience in art or printmaking is necessary! This class is particularly great for those who have never tried printmaking and want to learn a new craft, or those who might be rusty in their skills and want to ask lots of questions. A small class (4-5 people) ensures lots of attention and care from the instructor.

Bring ideas or drawings or reference material, or just come as you are!
