Living Elderly in the 21st Century
Many of us are looking forward to living into our golden years. We are living longer, but with aging there are challenges. Some of those challenges include: health, finances, family or lack of and a very important need housing. Studies show that by the year 2030, one in every five individuals will be over the age of 65. Studies also show that 75% of Americans 75 and older will require nursing homes. Is the housing industry prepared for the rise in the number of elderly home seekers in our population? Are we prepared to meet their needs?
Join us as we learn about the aging demographics of our population from various experts in the field of geriatrics. Our plan is to begin an important conversation on how best to serve the elderly, while being mindful of their rights and responsibilities according to the Federal and Virginia Fair Housing Law.
