Exquisite Corpse: an original devised production
Exquisite Corpse is a devised theatre work, created in collaboration with TheatreLAB's Summer Session acting company, and led in concept and construction by Amy R. Surratt. The piece began through the Surrealist's parlour game of the same name, and seeks to engage in form without adhering to a sole performance-style. Participants of this communal poetic creation manipulate elements of time, space, and language -- using the body to disrupt the verbal field and create a vision of the dialectical structure of collage as linked to the concept of "identity."
What we are creating together is an experimental performance piece that explores the role of the audience in the construct of "meaning" and character.
